(I personally don’t want to ruit it, so I won’t go into so many
details)
This is the fourth book I have read by Colleen
Hoover. I rarely finish books less than 4-5 days but this one had me hooked. I
managed to finish within 3 days.
Grief and forgiveness are the theme of this book. Kenna made
one mistake and it has impacted her whole life. She
has gone through, not only the loss of her soulmate, but of her child, and
dealing with the weight of the world on her shoulders. To fight for Diem, Kenna saved every
penny she earned to move back to the town her boyfriend lived so she can meet
her daughter.
I didn’t blame Scotty’s
Parents as well. They are good people. Being a mother, I can understand
the pain after losing the only child and someone that means a lot to
them. They only want to protected Diem from the woman they regarded as the cause for all of their grief.
I loved every one of the characters in this book especially
Lady Diana, the Down syndrome teenager. She called Ledger as jerk and Ledjerk every
time she saw Ledger with Kenna. I smile every line of Lady Diana in this book.
I
love CoHo writing skills that I don’t need to put so much effort to understand
each characters and it easy to relate to them. All
the pain and sorrow in each words portrayed so well within the writing. This
book is so deep and meaningful.
I highly recommend. I cannot say that this is the best book
I have read this year, but Mrs.
Hoover never disappoints me!
“There are people who find peace in forgiveness, and then
there are others who look at forgiveness as a betrayal. To them, forgiving me
would feel like betraying their own son. I can only hope they change their
minds someday, but until then, this is my life. This is where it’s led me.” – Kenna,
pages 288.
